DON'T CARE (the end of the world is nigh)

We have received two published reviews for our current show so far.

"★★★★½" "terrific show"

- Samela Harris Adelaide Advertiser February 25, 2010

"Chronically silly... Go see it!"

- Kimberley Mann & Angie Starr RIP IT UP February 25, 2010

Poppycock! REDUX

Poppycock! was rewritten for our hometown, Canberra. We added some Canberra-specific skits to increase the show to an hour and a half of greatness. Cris Kennedy of The Canberra Times reviewed the show on Saturday 1st August 2009.

"It's all rather clever... I thought it was fabulous and witty"
- Cris Kennedy The Canberra Times August 4, 2009

Poppycock!

Our review night at the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival was not a great night with many technical problems detracting from the performance. Colin Flaherty of The Groggy Squirrel said of our show that it was

"...inspired silliness..."

Marcus Lambert of The Pun liked our show and wants us back next year.

"It’s fantastic to see a young group ploughing into the cultural clashes which dominate the global Op-Ed pages."

Think Inside the Box

At the 2008 Melbourne International Comedy Festival The Small Poppies unleashed their debut show, Think Inside the Box. The Poppies extended their season to include a sold out run in Canberra.

Think Inside the Box achieved some media attention due to its highly topical subject matter. Appearing on Canberra's 106.3 Mix FM Breakfast Radio, the Poppies performed a sketch about the Beijing Olympic Games live on air which left the djs in stitches.

"Watch out Chaser!"
- Lisa Ridgley 106.3 Mix FM May 30, 2008

The Poppies were also invited onto Sunday Night Safran due to Adam's scarily accurate portrayal of Safran in a skit about Easter. Father Bob enjoyed it, John was not amused.

"Jackpot!"

The Canberra performance of Think Inside the Box saw a change of cast but that didn't stop the Poppies garnering positive reviews from the Canberra critics.

“A witty and pointed romp
trimmed of fat and full of
promise…Think Inside the
Box
is a skit show high in
honest laughs, and one that
signals the arrival of a renegade
force on the Australian
comedy circuit."

- Nick Craven BMA Magazine June 12, 2008
